The majority of the jobs that I have held since my undergraduate days at UC Davis have involved a level of counseling/advising. I was an intern here in the Career Center my last year of graduate school. Afterward, I worked as an Admissions Counselor for a medical school on the other side of the bay. I returned to Cal after being away for 5 yrs. and worked as a College Advisor in the College of Letters and Science and now, I have completed the circle.
After graduating from UC Davis, I spent six years working in the insurance industry. I realized it wasn't for me and returned to school to pursue my Master’s in Counseling. Prior to joining Cal’s Career Center November 2006 I worked two years at a private school in southern California. Here at Cal, my primary focus is working with students interested in pursuing pre-med and health careers.
After receiving my bachelor's degree from UC Davis, I spent a couple of years in the corporate world. Having learned that I was wired to be happiest working outside of the corporate world, I pursued my Master's degree in Counseling. This is my fourth year at the Career Center, and my third year providing pre-med/health counseling. I've also spent several years working as a general counselor and instructor in the community college setting.
